The Golf Variant is ideally equipped for defusing hazardous situations fast. The electronic stabilisation program with counter-steer assistance is always ready for action. The system also includes ABS with brake assist, traction control (ASR), ED), engine braking control (MSR) and trailer stabilisation. Automatic activation of the hazard warning lights in response to heavy braking gives an added boost to safety, as do the disc brakes at the front (internally ventilated) and rear. The hill-start assist stops you from rolling back on an incline or stalling the engine.
